400 MHz FT-NMR, JEOL (Singapore)
Features
Performance
Following operations can be carried out with this instrument:
1D (1H and 13C) measurement
2D (1H and 13C) measurement using COSY and DEPT
HMQC and HMBC observation for heteronuclear correlation spectras
1D and 2D NMR measurement are performed to obtain measurement, data processing and plotting
Determining molecular structure and conformation of a sample and examine interactions between molecules can be achieving by 1D and 2D NMR (interpretation will be done by users only).
Applications
Determining molecular structure and conformation of a sample and examining interactions between molecules can be achieved by 1D and 2D NMR.
Sample Specifications
For liquid NMR
The concentration required is the following
For 1H NMR: 5-7 mg sample in 600 µl to 1 ml
For 13C NMR: 15-30 mg sample in 600 µl to 1 ml
Sample should be completely dissolved in deuterated solvent.
For solid NMR,
200 - 500 mg samples are required
The sample should be in fine powder form or in small pieces
Sample must be non-corrosive in nature
Testing Parameters
The sample is subjected to a magnetic field of 400 MHz. The run time is dependent on the nature of the compound to be tested.
Points to be noted
Sample must be non-toxic
Sample should be of sufficient amount to get good results
Bring relevant reference papers before running a sample for solid NMR
