Farewell of Dr. Varun Arora along with M.tech and B.tech batch of 2020

The farewell ceremony of B.tech, M.tech batch of 2019 and Dr. Varun Arora was held on 29 January 2021 through online mode. They all were awarded for their contribution in research activities and lab management.

Ms. Seema Agrawal and Ms. Peerti Saini were awarded for their significant contribution in "Electrospun Nanofibres". They joined the group in 2019 for their B.tech project.

Mr. Sumit Kumar Singh was awarded for significant contribution in "Water Purification using Nanofibre Membranes". He joined the group in 2018 after completing his B.tech. from Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi.

Mr. Amit Patel was awarded for significant contribution in "Electrospinning". He joined the group in 2018 after completing his B.tech. from Institute of chemical technology, Mumbai and with around a year of work experience.

Mr. Jogendra Rathore was awarded for significant contribution in "Textile Based Sensors". He joined the group in 2018 after completing his B.tech from M.L.V. Textile and Engineering College, Bhilwara, Rajasthan and with around a year of work experience.

Mr. Meharchand was awarded for significant contribution in "Piezoelectric Nanofibres". He joined the group in 2018 after completing his B.tech from M.L.V. Textile and Engineering College, Bhilwara, Rajasthan and with around three years of work experience.

Dr. Varun Arora joined the group in 2019 as a research associate after completing his PhD in chemistry from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. He handled multiple projects at SMITA group and worked successfully in the area of antimicrobial coatings even in the covid19 pandemic time. He was awarded a certificate for outstanding contribution in Technology transfer for "Nanomaterial based Antimicrobial Coating". He also worked in a collaborative project, and was awarded with a certificate of appreciation for making outstanding contribution in research area of "Biomedical Materials" in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He also received a certificate of appreciation for making outstanding contribution in "Operation and management of Smita Research Lab during Covid19 Pandemic". He is leaving the group to join Kusuma School of Biological Sciences IIT Delhi.

We hope they had a good learning experience at SMITA Research Lab and wish them all the best for their future endeavors.
